A WORLD CLASS EDUCATION AND INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED QUALIFICATIONS
We believe education is one of the most powerful forces shaping the future of our society. In a world defined by rapid change and global challenges, schools must do more than deliver curriculum — they must develop character, critical thinking, adaptability, and integrity.

Our school is built on strong values: Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Tolerance. These principles guide our culture and shape the partnerships we build with families, recognising that education is most powerful when school and home work together.

Our Aims
Because education should do more than deliver results.
Our students develop strong academic foundations while gaining the confidence, independence and global perspective needed to navigate the world beyond school. Through personalised pathways and internationally recognised programmes, we prepare students not only for university, but for life.
We recruit, support and continuously develop dedicated educators who bring expertise, enthusiasm and care into the classroom, guiding students in both their academic and personal development.
We place students’ well-being, growth and achievement at the centre of every decision we make. We are committed to supporting their emotional, social, cultural and academic development at every stage.
We provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where curiosity is encouraged, individuality is respected, and a lifelong love of learning is cultivated.
We deliver internationally recognised programmes that are broad, balanced, academically rigorous and flexible, preparing students for global pathways and future success.
We adopt a modern, engaging and student-centred approach that builds confidence, encourages intellectual risk-taking and fosters independent thinking.
We extend learning beyond the classroom by promoting participation in a diverse range of extracurricular activities that develop talents, interests and leadership.
We cultivate respectful, collaborative relationships among students, staff and parents, recognising that strong partnerships strengthen educational outcomes.
We engage our students in meaningful community service projects, which will lead to reflection and personal growth and will show them how they can take an active role in making their world a better place
We build strong, transparent partnerships with families, recognising that education is most effective when school and home work together.
The School Leadership Team translates the school’s vision into everyday practice, guiding the academic direction of the school and supporting students, staff and families.
British International School of Timișoara was founded on the vision of offering students an international education and meaningful opportunities for the future.
Located in the northern part of Timișoara, our campus brings together a renovated historic building and a modern facility inaugurated in 2023. Together, they create a learning environment where tradition meets innovation.
The campus can accommodate approximately 900 students and includes fully equipped laboratories, libraries in both buildings, multi-purpose spaces and one of the most modern PE halls in the city, alongside generous outdoor sports facilities and green areas.
Beyond academic spaces, a canteen and coffee shop bring students and staff together, contributing to the sense of community that defines daily life at BIST.

School Life
We encourage all students to take part in co-curricular activities as an important part of school life, helping them build confidence, teamwork and a sense of community.
At BIST, students can explore a wide range of activities — from sports and performing arts to media, clubs and creative projects — allowing them to discover and develop their interests beyond the classroom.
Work Experience at BIST gives students insight into the world of work, helping them develop practical skills and confidence. Students receive a Work Experience Diploma and Letters of Recommendation, supporting their future university applications.
School trips are an important part of the co-curricular experience. From local visits to international experiences, trips support academic learning, independence and a broader understanding of the world.
Career Talks give students the opportunity to learn from professionals and explore different career paths.
After-school clubs offer students the opportunity to explore their interests beyond the classroom. With a wide range of activities, students can develop new skills, build confidence and enjoy learning in a more relaxed and engaging environment.
Dragon’s Den is designed for Year 10 Business students, giving them the opportunity to develop and present their own business ideas. Students pitch their concepts to a panel of real business professionals, gaining valuable experience in entrepreneurship, communication and critical thinking.
Sports Teams give students the opportunity to represent the school, develop their skills and experience the value of teamwork and commitment. Through training and competitions, students build confidence, resilience and a strong sense of team spirit.
The Talent Show is a highlight of school life, giving students the opportunity to showcase their talents, build confidence and perform in front of their peers.
Model United Nations (MUN) gives students the opportunity to take on the role of diplomats, debating global issues and representing different countries. Through research, negotiation and public speaking, students develop confidence, critical thinking and a deeper understanding of international affairs.
Debate encourages students to think critically, construct arguments and express their ideas with confidence. Through structured discussions and competitions, students develop public speaking, reasoning and listening skills.
