Ms. Hickman arrives at BIST from a premier international school in Budapest, where she has been dedicated to fostering academic excellence and community growth. Her adept management of school expansion initiatives, akin to our own recent endeavors, highlights her proficiency in navigating changing educational landscapes, which is key to supporting students particularly in the wake of the global pandemic.
Grounded in her belief in the transformative power of education, Ms. Hickman’s pedagogical philosophy centers on cultivating a culture of joyful learning and holistic personal growth. She is dedicated to instilling values of global citizenship, community engagement, and equality across all facets of school life, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive environment for students and educators alike.
Originally hailing from Canada, Ms. Hickman’s academic career began in linguistics and English literature, followed by a transition to Europe where she pursued her PGCE and obtained a Master of Education in leadership and management from the UK. Beyond her professional pursuits, she is an avid enthusiast of art and classical music.
