Jane
MIHALACHE
Jane joined the British International School of Timisoara as a Year 2 teacher and is currently Head of the Pastoral Care and part of the IB team and Teacher of Visual Arts. She graduated from Birmingham Polytechnic with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Three Dimensional Design. She then went on to complete a PGCE in art and design at the University of Central England in Birmingham. Jane has 17 years teaching experience, working in Birmingham, London and Manchester in the UK as well as abroad. Before joining BIST, Jane taught at an international British school in Bucharest where she was involved in teaching and management roles.
Over the years, Jane has had the opportunity to develop her passion for holistic education with a strong focus on pastoral care. She has worked on a number of initiatives for example, building global dimensions into the curriculum, organising and running international educational trips, student exchange programmes, community action service, citizenship days, mentoring programmes, organising Model United Nations conferences, school assemblies and shows. Outside teaching, Jane continues to pursue her Interests in holistic living. Her interest in cultural and historical travel continues to influence her own personal creative projects.
