Seona is originally from Ontario, Canada, where she lived her entire life before moving to Timișoara this summer. She is delighted to begin her first international teaching experience at BIST and to make Timișoara her new home.
Seona graduated from York University with a Specialized Honours Degree in Psychology, focusing on Education and Child Development, as well as a French as a Second Language Diploma. During her final year, she completed a placement teaching French and dance, confirming that education was her calling. The following year, she earned her Montessori Teaching Certificate and went on to teach in private elementary schools, delivering Primary, French, and Science, alongside enrichment classes in dance, creative writing, book clubs, eco-education, and school theatre.
In 2022, she obtained her TEFL certificate while working toward her American Teaching Certification, which she completed in 2023. She is currently completing her IB PYP diploma at the University of Windsor, with completion expected by summer 2025.
Seona believes in nurturing a growth mindset, resilience, and a genuine love of learning in every student.
