Silvana is a positive and determined person, with an 8-year experience in teaching English to young children. She is extremely excited to join the BIST team, seeing it as a great opportunity to evolve and continue to learn, better herself in the field of teaching and, most importantly, being there to guide and inspire pupils to become people who, one day, will also choose to define and inspire other characters and values.
Silvana had the opportunity to graduate secondary school in the United Kingdom, where she lived for 5 years and therefore, has experienced both the advantages and disadvantages of two different educational systems and would like to share what she has learned with others. She believes that the role of the teacher is to make teaching attractive and pleasant for the learner, to combine theory with practice, facilitate learning and find ways to stimulate the pupils’ desire to learn, be actively involved and enjoy everything they gain through the whole process. It is very important to help children find motivation and desire to explore and enhance their strengths and therefore, be able to reach their full potential.
In her free time, Silvana loves to go hiking in the mountains especially because she misses the times when she used to take part in orienteering national and international competitions, as a young child. She believes that participation is sports helps to build character, encourages emotional growth and teaches children the value of respect, dedication, teamwork and courage. She also loves spending time with her children, travelling, reading, dancing and gardening.
