Having been raised in Cambridge, Hong Kong, then rural Scotland, Tom is used to living internationally. After achieving his Bachelors from the University of Edinburgh, Tom embarked to Japan where he taught English for three years. Having fallen in love with the teaching profession, he decided to return to Scotland and trained as a primary school teacher at the University of Glasgow.
In his free time, Tom is an avid chess player and enjoys sharing his passion for the game with his class. Tom also enjoys the outdoors, having previously completed a bike trip across Scotland, as well as numerous hikes and camping trips across the highlands. Tom is looking forward to hiking the Carpathian Mountains as well as exploring the history and language of Romania as a whole.
