Your journey to greatness

British International School of Timisoara offers a continuous journey towards global opportunities.

PRIMARY SCHOOL

Discovering the World through Play

Learning is built around Exploration and Play. Our youngest students develop essential academic foundations while growing in Confidence, Creativity and Independence, gradually discovering the world around them and their place within it.

SECONDARY SCHOOL

Discovering Strengths and Shaping Direction

As students move into Secondary School, academic expectations grow and subject choices expand. Through deeper Study, Competitions, Leadership opportunities and wider involvement in school life, students develop their skills, discover new passions and begin defining their academic and personal Direction.

HIGHSCHOOL

Independence, Specialisation and Future Pathways

Starting Year 12, students pursue either the IB Diploma Programme or A-Levels, choosing subjects aligned with their strengths and University ambitions. Greater Independence, Leadership and real-world experiences prepare them for the transition to higher education and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Student Life

Learning That Extends Beyond the Classroom

Student development continues through Clubs, Competitions, Sports teams, Performances, Leadership opportunities and Volunteering. These experiences allow students to explore their interests, build confidence and develop the skills that shape them far beyond academic learning.

The Path to University

University & Career Counselling

The university application process is both challenging and exciting, requiring careful preparation. At BIST, we have designed a comprehensive programme to support students in planning their path to university, beginning in Year 10 and continuing through to Year 13. This journey starts with individual guidance and coaching meetings, helping students make informed decisions about subject choices and academic development.

Personalised University Guidance

Students receive tailored support in exploring career interests, choosing the right course of study and identifying universities that match their ambitions. Guidance becomes increasingly personalised as students progress through Secondary School and Sixth Form.

Strategic Preparation for Top Universities

For students aiming at highly competitive universities, the programme provides individual action plans, regular progress meetings and specialised preparation for applications, including personal statements, interviews and external testing where required.

Real-World Exposure and Career Exploration

Students gain valuable insights into future pathways through university visits, internships, career talks and meetings with university representatives. These experiences help them understand academic and professional opportunities worldwide.

Skills for Successful Applications

The programme prepares students for the university application process by developing essential skills such as research, academic writing and interview preparation, ensuring they can confidently present themselves to universities around the world.

Partnership in education

Keeping Families Connected to School Life

We believe children thrive when families and teachers work closely together. Through open communication, regular updates and dialogue, we build a relationship based on trust, clarity and collaboration throughout every stage of a student’s journey.

Clear and Regular Communication

Parents stay informed through our internal communication platform and a school newsletter distributed twice each month, sharing updates, important announcements and highlights from school life.

Meetings and Academic Updates

Regular parent–teacher meetings and performance review discussions allow families to follow their child’s academic progress, discuss development and set future goals together with teachers.

Events and School Engagement

Throughout the year, parents are invited to a variety of events including orientation days for new families, subject option evenings, parent workshops and informal gatherings, creating opportunities to learn more about school life and educational programmes.

Open Door Policy

We maintain an open-door policy that allows parents to book meetings with teachers, Heads of Department or the School Leadership Team whenever guidance, clarification or support is needed.
