WELLBEING & SUPPORT
At BIST, wellbeing is not an add-on — it’s part of how we teach and care. With small class sizes (max 22 students, 1 teacher + 1 assistant), every child is seen, heard, and supported throughout their educational journey.
The staff is fully trained to support the wellbeing of every student.
Our campus is designed to support the wellbeing of our students, with appropriate design, accessibility features and ample green spaces.
Where specific educational needs are identified, the school SEND coordinator (Student Counsellor) will put together an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) together with the parents and the class teacher.
SMSC stands for spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. An international school with a British based curriculum must prove that the SMSC component is imbedded in the school routine, in and outside the lessons.
GUIDANCE & FUTURE PATH
From the early years to graduation, students receive individual guidance to discover their passions and prepare for university and beyond.
The Path to University and Beyond
The university application process is both challenging and exciting. At the British International School of Timisoara, we have designed a comprehensive programme to ensure every student is prepared for their future.
We provide careful guidance on course selection and academic performance, beginning in Year 10 and continuing through to graduation.

Partnership in education
We believe children thrive when families and teachers work side by side. Through open communication and regular updates, we ensure clarity, trust, and collaboration at every step.
Dedicated meetings where teachers and parents discuss progress, strengths, and next steps in each child’s learning journey.
Families receive weekly updates through newsletters ensuring clarity, transparency, and continuous connection with the school.
Opportunities for parents to learn, connect, and engage with the school community in a relaxed, collaborative environment.
how Students shape the school
The prefect system at the British International School of Timisoara is part of the overall programme that develops leadership and responsibility.
Prefects are expected to establish and maintain the highest standards of behaviour, attitude and appearance at all times and provide a positive role model for other pupils. They are appointed each year to undertake various roles and responsibilities around the School.
Prefects will exhibit the personal qualities that are valued at BIST. They are reliable and responsible members of the School’s community who demonstrate:
Your Voice, Your School
The Student Council is an opportunity for representative pupils of each year group to voice their ideas and suggestions on behalf of the student body. Its aim is to foster leadership skills and bridge the gap between students and staff, promoting a strong relationship within the community.
The Council makes a positive contribution to the school community by enabling teachers and pupils to work together in a formal framework. Its main objectives are:
we make sure
BIST challenges the traditional view of pupils as passive learners. We encourage all students to make use of their talents and express constructive views.
We meet at least once a month to brainstorm ideas for improvement and discuss upcoming events.
Meeting agendas are open to any student. They can raise an issue through a Council Representative or by leaving a suggestion in the Student Council boxes located at the Primary and Secondary entrances.
